Our History

On the eve of 25/01/1992 a group of Individuals gathered at the auspicious place "TIN MURTI, PODANPUR", in Borivali (W), Mumbai and conceived the idea of forming a platform for the youth of Dasha Humad belonging to native of Pratapgarh (Rajasthan). The efforts of 25th & 26th January resulted in Birth of PJYM. The PJYM came into existence on 2nd of February 1992 at Malad, a suburb of Financial Capital of India, Mumbai. Very soon the small seed roped at the auspicious place started to grow. The few enthusiastic youth formed a committee and started the activity with the blessings of elderly persons of the Samaj. The Goals of PJYM were discussed and finalized. The first committee consisting of 21 energetic youth was formed for 2 years. The constitution was finalized. To avoid unhealthy practice of groupism the election process was avoided and a process of selection of future committee's was incorporated in the constitution. The system is working excellently till today.

The PJYM came into existence with following goals :-

  • To increase interaction between the members of Dasha Humad with a special emphasis on Youth interaction.
  • To increase & develop social awareness, responsibilities, respectability and accountability among youngsters.
  • To acquire or build a SAMAJ BHAVAN.
  • To help the needy persons.

To achieve the goals the young brigade started to work from the word `Go'. In its 1st year of existence the PJYM successfully organized a Fund Raising Program on 15th August, 1992 in Birla Matushri Subhagarh at Marine Lines and created a history by collecting funds in excess of Rs. 25 Lakhs by way of Advertisements, Donations etc. The March did not stopped there. Year after year the PJYM has successfully organized 7 Fund Raising Programs.
