Festivals

All festivals are celebrated in Pratapgarh. However the following festivals are exclusive only to Pratapgarh:

Nhavan Teras - This is the holi festival where people play with colors. This festival is celebrated on the thirteenth day of Hindu month Chaitra. (Chaitra vadi teras). After playing with colours a ger (procession) is taken out in the evening where every enjoys the khand bhang (dhandai).

Rath Baoji - Immediately after the pajushan parv a huge Rath yatra (procession) is taken out from the Juna Mandir on the 1st day of Ashwin month and 2nd day of Ashwin month from Naya mandir. The third rath yatra is taken out on the last day of Kartik (kartik sudi 15) from Rishabdev Mandir.

MELA (FAIR)
Every year there are two melas organised -
One on the 15th day of the Jeth month (Jethi poonam) at Shantinath
The second takes place on the 1st and 2nd day of Kartik (kartik sudhi ekam and duj) at Amba Mata temple.
